The Levy County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division was on
their “A” game yesterday afternoon. Deputy Kevin Davis observed a red pick-up
occupied by four people that had an expired tag decal at the intersection of US
19 and Rogers Blvd in Chiefland. Deputy Davis stopped the vehicle and during
his investigation found the tag was attached to the wrong vehicle.
The driver, Joshua Pippin (7-11-80) received a warning for
the tag violation. But, the investigation did not end there. Deputy Davis
interviewed the three passengers and during a search of the vehicle found a
methamphetamine lab as well as drug paraphernalia. Two jars containing
approximately 750 grams of methamphetamine liquid was recovered and rendered
safe by the Sheriff’s Office Drug Task Force members.
