Two Men Sentenced for Sex Crimes

On June 3, 2022 Antonio R. Ramos (7/6/91) of Trenton was arrested for unlawful sexual activity with certain minors. He has been held in custody at the Levy County Detention Center since his arrest. On February 9, 2023 Ramos entered a guilty plea and was sentenced to a six (6) year prison sentence in the Florida Department of Corrections.

On November 8, 2022 Imanuel A. Marrero (8/18/94) of Morriston was arrested for two counts of lewd and lascivious molestation of a person older than 12 but younger than 16 and the offender was older than 18. He has been held in custody at the Levy County Detention Center since his arrest. On February 13, 2023 Marrero entered a guilty plea and was sentenced to a seven (7) year prison sentence in the Florida Department of Corrections.

The guilty pleas entered to the Courts by these men attests to the diligent hard work by the Detectives assigned to investigate these heinous crimes. These pleas also alleviate the victims of having to suffer the torturous rigors of a trial.  The evidence collected by the Detectives during these investigations was overwhelming and left these men no option than to enter these pleas.

Sleeping Driver Arrested for Grand Theft and Meth Possession

On February 10, 2023 at 1:00 a.m. Sergeant Jeremy Dean saw a Green Hummer with two jet skis on a trailer parked at the intersection of Court Street and Masonic Street. The only lights illuminated were on the trailer that was blocking the intersection. The trailer did not have a tag attached on it. Sergeant Dean stopped to check on the driver to discover he, along with two passengers were all asleep.

Sergeant Dean woke everyone and spoke to them. Corporal Tucker Gaffey arrived to assist and their conversation with the driver took an unusual turn. The serial numbers for the jet skis and trailer were run through the FCIC database and the deputies were told they had been reported stolen to Marion County Sheriff’s Office on 2/9/23.

The investigation intensified as several stories began to emerge. All subjects in the vehicle gave a different account of the evening events. Ultimately Sergeant Dean placed the driver, identified as Michael Maynard (3/21/69) of Old Town, Florida, under arrest for grand theft. The investigation continued as 14 grams of methamphetamines were found in a cigarette pack belonging to Maynard. The front seat passenger, Paul Walls (10/5/56) of Morriston, Florida was also found in possession of methamphetamines. He too was arrested. The third passenger was released at the scene.

The vehicle owned by Maynard that was used to tow the jet skis was seized at the scene. The jet skis and its’ trailer were towed to the LCSO impound yard and have been returned to the owner in Marion County. Maynard is being held in the Levy County Detention Center having been charged with grand theft and trafficking in methamphetamines in lieu of a $131,000.00 bond. Walls is charged with possession of methamphetamines and drug paraphernalia. His bond has been set at $31,000.00.


 

On-line Scam Results in Arrest of Local Williston Man for Felony Battery

On February 6, 2023 Detectives responded to a local hospital after receiving a call that a female was admitted with multiple injuries related to an assault. Detectives interviewed the victim and learned the victim conversed and later met Williston resident Travis D. Dallas (3/11/74) through an on-line chat. Dallas was attempting to scam the victim during these chat sessions.

Dallas and the victim met at a location in Williston in mid-January. He refused to let her leave and physically battered the victim over a period of time. He used a knife to threaten her and struck her with a cinder block in his attempts to obtain more money from her. As a result of these injuries the victim has been hospitalized and undergone surgery.

Dallas was located and arrested for three separate warrants obtained during this investigation on February 10, 2023. He has been charged with felony battery, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, false imprisonment and felony battery-repeat offender. He is being held in the Levy County Detention Center in lieu of a $200,000.00 bond.

Drug Dealer Sentenced

On October 22, 2022 the Levy County Drug Task Force (DTF) arrested Debrisha Denise-Marianna Littles (4/17/89) of Williston for a myriad of drug related sales offenses. DTF received citizen complaints through Crime Stoppers that Littles was selling molly, ice, pill and marijuana from a home in the City of Williston. Detectives were able to use these tips to build a case and obtain a search warrant for the home where they recovered narcotics. Since this arrest Littles has been held in custody at the Levy County Detention Center on a $500,000 bond.

On February 2, 2023 Littles appeared before a Circuit Court Judge in Levy County and entered a guilty plea. Littles was sentenced to a five (5) year prison sentence in the Florida Department of Corrections and has been fined $3,065.00.

Sexual Predator Arrested During Search Warrant

The Levy County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division (CID) received a flyer from the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance in identifying a vehicle involved in the theft of a dump trailer stolen from Homosassa, Fl. LCSO Detectives recognized the truck pictured in the flyer as a vehicle they had encountered many times in the Bronson area. Detectives knew this truck was frequently seen at a home located next to local daycare and began conducting surveillance.

Surveillance teams identified a trailer matching the description of the trailer stolen from Citrus County on the property located at 945 East Hathaway Avenue. Detectives also discovered Michael G. Hernandez (2/5/81) a sexual predator was living at this location which confirmed several citizen complaints the Agency recently received. Detectives obtained a search warrant for the address and executed the warrant late yesterday afternoon.

Detectives and Crime Scene personnel encountered Hernandez leaving the property in a vehicle as the search warrant began. Hernandez was immediately taken into custody. Hernandez had a four year old child in the vehicle with him and Detectives discovered over 8 ½ ounces of marijuana in the seat next to the child. He dropped methamphetamines on the ground and attempted to grind them into the dirt as Detectives were handcuffing him.

Alexandra Gomara (4/7/95) was located on the property and identified as Hernandez’s girlfriend. She was found in possession of narcotics and taken into custody. Kristie Collins (11/22/73) was also located on the property and detained. Detectives discovered she was wanted for failure to appear in court for a pending drug case.

LCSO Detectives filed for and were granted an amendment to the search warrant and discovered a cache of guns and a large quantity of narcotics. In all fourteen (14) guns were seized along with approximately 90 pounds of marijuana, fentanyl and methamphetamines. Several guns were loaded and within reach of the child who was living at this home with Hernandez and Gomara.

The dump trailer located on the property was confirmed as the trailer stolen from Citrus County. Other stolen items were recovered from the property during the search. Detectives are continuing this investigation and ask that anyone who has information related to this or other cases contact the Levy County Sheriff’s Office at 352-486-5111. Additional charges could result as the investigation continues.

Michael Hernandez has been charged with a violation of sexual predator registration requirements, child neglect, possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, possession of methamphetamines, evidence tampering and possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond has been set at $266,000.00. Alexandra Gomara has been charged with child neglect and possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute. Her bond has been set at $155,000.00. Kristie Collins is being held on a $300 bond for the warrant for failure to appear.
