Burglary Suspect Arrested




Investigators with the LCSO Criminal Investigations Division arrested David P. Florance (4-19-95) for burglary and grand theft of firearms on August 29, 2016. LCSO Patrol Division deputies responded to a home located at 6850 NW 80 Street on August 22, 2016. The homeowner reported the theft of six firearms from the home. Patrol deputies developed information while taking this report which led to Florence as the suspect.

Investigators contacted a witness identified by the Patrol Division and following additional leads, were able to recover all 6 of the reported stolen firearms. Chiefland Police Department officers assisted in the recovery of 3 guns which were found to have been sold inside the City of Chiefland.
Florance was arrested and booked into the Levy County Detention Facility. Florance has been charged with burglary, grand theft, dealing in stolen property and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. His bond was set at $350,000.00.
