Man Arrested for Theft of Cattle Feed

September 12, 2016

Alliance Dairy owners contacted LCSO after discovering approximately $18,000 of cattle feed and other feed products had been stolen over a period of months. Dairy owners suspected James Jones (1-1-71), an employee of 6 months, was responsible for the theft after conducting an internal inquiry.

LCSO investigators conducted surveillance on Saturday night September 10 and into the early morning hours of September 11. Investigators observed Jones operating a front end loader as he dumped several loads of feed into his waiting truck and trailer. Jones was stopped by deputies after he left the property. Investigators discovered the high quality cattle feed in Jones’ trailer covered by a tarp.

Investigators obtained a statement from Jones who confessed to investigators he had taken at least three loads of cattle feed from the Alliance Dairy without permission. He was arrested and booked into the Levy County Detention Facility for three counts of Grand Theft. His bond has been set at $30,000.00.
