Two Traffic Stops, Five Arrested

February 4, 2021

Detectives with the Levy County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division stopped a gray Dodge truck with an altered tag in Bronson on February 1, 2021. The driver, Kash Carver (4/26/71) of Bronson, ran away from the vehicle and was apprehended a short distance away by detectives. Detectives learned Carver fled because he was driving with a suspended license and did not want to go to jail.

Carver had two passengers in the truck with him at the time he was stopped. Detectives discovered Edward Garcia (6/30/91) and Amber Russel (9/27/86), both list Bronson addresses, were in possession of illegal narcotics. Detectives searched the truck and discovered Carver was also hiding illegal narcotics in a backpack.

All three were arrested and transported to the Levy County Detention Bureau.

On February 2, 2021 the LCSO Patrol Division discovered a disabled silver Buick that was blocking the road on the outskirts of Bronson. Deputies recognized the car as belonging to Nicole McPherson (7/1/81) of Bronson and knew McPherson had an active warrant for her arrest for failure to appear in court.

Deputies spoke to the passenger, Patrick McLaughlin (9/13/66) of Bronson. McLaughlin told deputies they ran out of gas and were waiting on a friend to come help. McPherson was seen seated in the driver’s seat of the vehicle and was immediately taken into custody for the outstanding warrant.

Deputies saw the handle of a gun sticking out from underneath the driver’s seat where McPherson had been sitting. Deputies knew McPherson was a convicted felon and forbidden from possession of a firearm. The investigation also discovered McLaughlin was in possession of methamphetamines and morphine.

Both McPherson and McLaughlin were arrested and transported to the Levy County Detention Bureau.
