September 17, 2021

In 2019 Anthony Q. Knight (11/20/65) of Bronson became the subject of an investigation by the Sheriff’s Office Drug Task Force (DTF). Detectives learned Knight was selling methamphetamines and other illegal street level drugs from his home in Bronson. Detectives began gathering evidence and recovered various types of drugs which led to Knight’s first arrest in 2020.

Early Wednesday morning DTF Detectives executed a search warrant at the home of Anthony Knight. Detectives arrested Anthony Knight for possession of methamphetamines and two other individuals located there. Justin Ausburn (11/10/92) of Bronson was arrested for possession of methamphetamines and Christopher Long (3/27/86) of Bronson was arrested for possession of methamphetamines and fentanyl. Knights home is known to be used by local individuals who buy then use these illegal substances there.

This investigation is ongoing and additional charges are expected to be filed on Knight and others identified during this investigation. Sheriff McCallum has assigned detectives to the specialized Drug Task Force Unit to locate and arrest individuals who sell illegal narcotics in Levy County. Detectives could potentially seize a home that is known to be operated and maintained using proceeds of illegal drug sales.

Seizing the drug dealers’ assets will hinder or halt their illegal actions. Sheriff McCallum said, “I encourage all law abiding Levy County citizens to call us when you see suspicious activities in your neighborhoods. By reporting your observations to us, we could potentially shut down these drug dealers and rid your neighborhood of these criminals and the associated crimes. When people decide to make their living by committing crimes, I assure you we will respond and stop them.”
