On October 6, 2022 Detective Corporal C.J. Perryman arrested Chad Mitchell Vankampen (8/10/66) of Otter Creek, Florida for four counts of sex offender registration violations. Corporal Perryman discovered Vankampen vacated his registration address in Alachua County and moved to Levy County at some point in August of 2022. Vankampen did register with Levy County but did not fulfill all of his registration requirements as set forth by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement Sexual Offender registration rules. Corporal Perryman is in charge of the sex offender registration unit at the Sheriff’s Office and devotes countless hours verifying that registered offenders maintain compliance with State requirements and locating offenders who have moved here and failed to register as required.
Vankampen is being held in the Levy County Detention Center and his bond has been set at $120,000.00.
