Levy County Sheriff’s Office Detectives and the Florida
Department of Children and Family Services (DCF) worked together and their
investigation led to the arrest of a man for molesting a child. A report filed to the DCF Abuse Hotline launched
the investigation. A forensic interview with the child provided information
that Evan Barkley (11-13-43) was responsible for lewd and lascivious molestation
of the child who is under 12 years old.
Detectives located and interviewed Barkley on Friday, May 3,
2019 at his home located in South Levy County. Detective Justin Douglas
arrested Barkley at the conclusion of this interview. Barkley was book in at
the Levy County Detention Facility where he is being held in lieu of a
$100,000.00 bond.
