Cedar Key, Florida-On June 15, 2009 Deputy Allen Breeding arrested Dean Ryan Esposito for child abuse, resisting arrest without violence and improper exhibition of a firearm.
The Levy County Sheriff's Office received a 9-1-1 call in reference to a domestic dispute between Esposito and a relative. The victim retreated to a neighbor's residence and advised Deputy Allen that Esposito had been drinking all day and hit the victim (juvenile) with a closed fist.
Deputy Breeding went to 13691 SW 67 Place and observed the Esposito sitting on his front steps with a black pistol on his lap. Esposito was ordered to put the gun down and he stated that he had a loaded gun and became upset and went inside the residence armed with the pistol.
Captain Anderson responded to the scene and was able to get Esposito in putting the gun down inside the residence. While standing at the front door attempting to get Esposito to come outside he became upset and made an aggressive move towards the pistol. Captain Anderson was able to neutralize Esposito by deploying his taser before Esposito could arm himself with the pistol.
