Investigators with the Levy County Sheriff’s Office Criminal
Investigations Division arrested Fidel Ulises Ortiz (8-15-89) Friday, September
22, 2017, after a complaint was filed by the parent of a juvenile victim. In
the complaint, the parent alleges Ortiz supplied the child with alcoholic
beverages to the extent the child became intoxicated. While in the intoxicated
state, Ortiz, who is 28 years old, sexually battered the child.
Investigators executed a search warrant on the home where
Ortiz allegedly battered the child and discovered evidence supporting the
child’s statement. During the warrant execution, Ortiz became combative with
law enforcement and had to be restrained.
Ortiz was booked into the Levy County Detention Facility and
was charged with sexual battery by a person over 24/victim under 18,
contributing to the delinquency of a minor and resisting arrest without
violence. Ortiz’s bond has been set at $270,000.00.
