Brett Watts Arrested For Armed Burglary

Bronson, Florida-On April 6, 2009 Deputy Joseph Sabbag arrested Brett Watts for aggravated assault and domestic battery. The domestic dispute led Detectives to solve an armed burglary in the Chiefland area.

The Levy County Sheriff’s Office responded to a domestic dispute at 8750 NE 113 Lane Bronson. Upon arrival the victim stated that Watts punched her and threatened to kill her. The dispute was over Watts using the victim’s car to commit an armed burglary and then later selling the victim’s car for $ 40.00 to purchase drugs.

The victim reported that Watts held a pistol to her head and threatened to kill her if she did not keep quiet about the burglary. Deputy Sabbag arrested Watts for aggravated assault and domestic battery for punching and kicking the victim in the face and legs.

Detective Mike Bell responded and investigated the allegation that Watts committed an armed burglary. It was confirmed that on March 29, 2009 a residence in the Chiefland area had 15 firearms stolen. Detective Bell located and recovered 14 stolen firearms in Archer. Watts has a past history with law enforcement and he has been convicted on burglary, theft and cocaine charges. Watts has been charged with aggravated assault, domestic battery, armed burglary, grand theft of a firearm and 14 counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
