On May 26, 2018 the Levy County Sheriff’s Uniformed Office
Patrol Division Deputies responded to 7155 NW 60 Street to a reported
disturbance. Upon their arrival deputies discovered the argument turned violent
and a man had been shot. The victim was transported to a local emergency medical
facility with non-life threatening injuries.
The investigation revealed Edwin Deleon Henry (12/28/81) became
involved in an argument with the victim for unknown reasons. Henry attacked the
victim, described as a 38 year old Bronson native, who was punching him. The
fight escalated when Henry pulled a gun from his waist band and attempted to
shoot the victim in the chest. The victim was able to deflect the gun before being
fired at his chest, but sustained a bullet injury to his leg. Henry fled prior
to law enforcement arrival.

Division responded to the scene and developed additional information that led
to the issuance of an arrest warrant for Henry. Henry was located 1402 N. Young
Blvd in Chiefland yesterday and arrested for the outstanding warrant. Henry has
been charged with aggravated battery with a firearm and possession of a firearm
by a convicted felon. Henry has nine (9) prior felony convictions. The bond has
