This morning the Levy County Sheriff’s Office Drug Task
Force (DTF) executed a search warrant on apartment #2 at the Bronson Villas
located at 920 East Hathaway Avenue. DTF investigators began an investigation
based on numerous citizen complaints of suspicious activity seen at apartment
#2. The investigation identified Ashley Tomlin (5/7/85) as the primary tenant
of this apartment.
DTF investigators found Tomlin and Harris Garcia (12/7/92)
inside the apartment when they made entry. The following investigation revealed
both subjects were in possession of illegal narcotics. Tomlin was found to be
in possession of methamphetamines, oxycodone, Xanax and marijuana. Garcia was
found in possession of methamphetamines and drug paraphernalia.
Tomlin was arrested and has been charged with possession of
methamphetamines, possession of a controlled substance without a prescription
(two counts) and possession of marijuana less than 20 grams. Garcia was
arrested and has been charged with possession of methamphetamines and
possession of drug paraphernalia.
Both await first appearance tomorrow morning before bonds
will be assigned.
It was the diligent observations and complaints filed by our
citizens that allowed us to solve this case and take these two into custody.
