The Levy County Sheriff’s Office Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at a home located at 11250 NE 89 Terrace in Bronson yesterday morning. Drug investigators developed information that the renters, Nathaneal Andersen (11/30/90) and Demi Zavalza (10/9/95), were using this home to manufacture and sell drugs.

Drug investigators entered the home and took four people into custody. A search of the home discovered 2.26 pounds of raw marijuana, approximately 2 pounds of “DABS” or marijuana butter, oxycodone, a gun and cash. Additionally, investigators located two quarts of marijuana extract used for producing “DABS” and gummy bears and 235 marijuana laced gummy bears ready for sale. The equipment and instructions for the making of edible marijuana was also found in the kitchen. Investigators described the most disturbing find was the gummy bears. An investigator wrote in the arrest affidavit, “It should be further noted that edible gummy bears with marijuana/THC are commonly manufactured and are used to target youth for distribution/consumption due to the candy-like theme and appearance.”

Investigators found Ms. Zavalza lived in the home with her child, who is described as a toddler. The child was released into the custody of family members who responded to the scene after being contacted by investigators. Based upon the discovery of the large amount of narcotics being kept in locations accessible to the child, additional charges will be forthcoming for child endangerment.
